VINTAGEonPHILLY Goes Places: Pin-up Photoshoot at The Fortress of the Arts

Last weekend, I had the opportunity to visit The Fortress of the Arts, an art collective in North Philly, to do a video project for school. On Sunday, a couple of owner Kat Reilly's meet-up groups converged to do an awesome pin-up photo shoot. It was a long day but so much fun. Here are some pictures I took during the day.

VINTAGEonPHILLY Spots: Tree and Kimball

I bought these little beauties from an incredibly warm and talented lady, Miss Lisa Bruemmer of Tree and Kimball. I met the lace extraordinaire this summer at the Punk Rock Flea Market and immediately fell in love with her jewelry. Unfortunately, by the time I found her table I had spent all my money. I promised her I would check out her online store and when I did I got the shivers all over again. She taps right into my love of long dangly earrings. Thanks so much Lisa!

Here are some other Tree and Kimball designs ....

In addition to making jewelry, Lisa runs an online shop of the same name where she sells vintage clothing and accessories. She has a real eye for the best one of a kind vintage items. Here are some of my favorite items currently in the store.

EVENT: Market at the Piazza

This Saturday and Sunday is another installment of the "largest year-round vendor market in Philadelphia". With over 200 vendors, there is sure to be a medley of vintage finds and good food. be Last time I went to the Market at the Piazza at Schmidts (2nd & Germantown Avenue), I got a beautiful purse and a used copy of one of my favorite books for less than $5.

Coinciding with the vendor market in No Libs will be the
2nd Street Music Festival on August 1, which will also hail many vendors, food, beer and of course music. See you all there!
